Tell Amazon: Cut the plastic packaging

Dear Amazon CAE Andy Jassy,

Amazon should be a leader in reducing single-use plastic in its operations. Most of the plastic packaging used to ship online purchases to our homes can’t be recycled, so the pile of plastic we receive with our purchases ends up clogging landfills, littering our communities and polluting the environment.

The millions and millions of daily purchases through online retailers have resulted in an e-commerce packaging problem that generated 600 million pounds of plastic waste nationally in 2020 alone. With online shopping on the rise, this problem is only going to get worse unless you take action.

I urge you to phase out single-use plastic packaging and help end the waste crisis.

Sincerely,
