Move Beyond Plastic Beach Cleanup
Join us to call for a true plastic bag ban and an end to plastic waste!
From production to disposal, plastic bag waste threatens the environment and our health. Too often plastic bags end up polluting our oceans and shorelines, where they endanger wildlife and dirty our beaches.
This month, the legislature will vote on two bills to address this issue and finally ban plastic bags at grocery store checkout. At the same time, Congress is considering a new law to prohibit dumping plastic pellets into our waterways.
On Saturday, August 17th, CALPIRG will be partnering with Surfrider to call for the passage of these bills and clean up the beach of all the trash we can grab. Join us to clean up the beach and hear from Congressman Levin and Senator Blakespear as we call on the federal and state leaders to pass policies that reduce plastic waste.
Mark your calendars to help us end plastic pollution!
