Tell the FTC: Crack down on electronic waste
Electronic waste is among the fastest-growing and most toxic forms of waste in the United States. Every year, millions of tons of electronics are thrown away without proper disposal. It’s wasteful and dangerous.
Tech companies are making the crisis worse by designing products to have short lifespans or ending software support for perfectly good products. The Federal Trade Commission needs to make rules guaranteeing long-term support, as well as repair options, for all tech products.
We have to end this wasteful behavior.
