Tell Kroger: Protect public health by eliminating antibiotics from your meat supply
Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen:
We deserve to know that the food we buy is good for us, our families and our community. But the use of antibiotics in meat production is creating big problems for our health.
Meat producers often use antibiotics to compensate for stressful, unsanitary and overcrowded conditions, not to treat sick animals. This practice gives rise to antibiotic resistant-bacteria that can cause difficult-to-treat or even deadly infections in humans.
We are urging Kroger to be an industry leader and eliminate routine antibiotics from your private-label meat supply chains to protect public health.
Sincerely,
