About two-thirds of the medically important antibiotics sold in the United States go to meat production.

The routine feeding of these drugs to animals that aren’t sick is undermining the effectiveness of life-saving antibiotics — and it runs the risk of creating antibiotic-resistant superbugs, which would wreak havoc on our medical system.

That’s why we’re working to curb the rise in antibiotic-resistant superbugs by calling on government and industry to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms.
