SRP increases funding for energy efficiency programs

Arizona PIRG Education Fund praises Salt River Project for approving a $4.6 million increase for their energy efficiency programs. As we advocated in a letter to the SRP Board, “increasing the budget now for energy efficiency and demand response programs can provide more customers with opportunities to save on their monthly SRP bill both in the short- and long-term. In addition, all SRP customers can benefit from these offerings --- whether they take advantage or not --- through the avoidance or deferral of costly capital expenditures.”

According to Valley Metro, the South Central Light Rail Extension/Downtown Hub is at 96% completion and entering the final phases of construction. Great to see another transportation option coming soon!
