Voices for Plastic-Free Waters
As part of our Beyond Plastic program, we have been collecting stories from people who have experienced plastic pollution firsthand as part of our new collection: “Voices for Plastic-Free Waters”.
One particular type of plastic, plastic pellets, has become pervasive in American waters. Under 5 mm in size, these are rarely seen by most people, but are mass produced to be melted and molded into everyday plastic products– everything from single-use plastic straws, to kid’s party favors, to car bumpers. It is estimated that 10 trillion plastic pellets enter our oceans every year.
In this collection, you can read about some inspiring individuals who are working to end plastic-pellet pollution.
