Maricopa County Voters: Please Vote YES on Prop. 479!

When Arizona PIRG staff and volunteers talk about transportation with citizens in the East Valley, the West Valley, or the City of Phoenix, we consistently hear statements about recently increased traffic congestion on our roads and the need for more public transit. Prop. 479 was designed by incorporating input from residents with detailed planning to offer improvements to transportation infrastructure across Maricopa County. Voting “yes” on Prop. 479 will reduce congestion and expand public transportation options including bus, dial-a-ride, and vanpool services --- services that are essential for many individuals to get to places such as work, the store, and medical appointments. Prop. 479 recognizes that each of us, as well as each municipality in Maricopa County, may have different priorities when it comes to transportation, but we have collective needs. Voting “yes” on Prop. 479 provides safer roads for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, and equips firefighters, ambulance drivers, and police with greater ability to respond to emergency calls without getting caught in gridlock. Please vote "yes" on Prop. 479. Paid for by Arizona PIRG, Inc.
