VIDEO PROFILE: Allison Cairo, U.S. PIRG Organizational Regional Director, Campus Organizer 2000-2002
"I've made a career out of doing this work for a couple reasons. When I started as a campus organizer, one of the things I was most motivated by was being able to work on issues I cared about, but then also train other people how to work on those issues... I really enjoyed the fact that by organizing people, I was able to have such a broad impact." >>

VIDEO PROFILE: Andre Delattre, U.S. PIRG Executive Director; Campus Organizer, 1989-1993
"Colleges and universities, you go to learn, and you learn a lot of things in the classroom. But most classrooms really don't teach you very much about politics in a *practical* way... You just learn how to participate in something much better when you you really get to do it hands-on. That's what PIRG brings to the college experience that, in most campuses and for most students, you just wouldn't get unless there was a program like ours on campus." >>

VIDEO PROFILE: Gary Kalman, U.S. PIRG Federal Legislative Office Director, Campus Organizer 1985-1989
"My first campaign was on a city council ordinance involving the community's right to know about when pesticides were being sprayed in local parks... The public had absolutely no idea what was going on. I was appalled. And so we launched a campaign and effectively convinced the city council to ensure that there was public notice. What put me on a pathway to a career in public interest was probably just anger, and trying to bring some sanity to our public policy and make sure that everyday Americans have a fair shot." >>
